영국에서 대학원학위를 생각하고 있다면 대학원 졸업 이후 진로에 대해 고민을 하게 될 것이다. 영국의 대학원 과정은 대부분 1년 혹은 15개월 과정으로 다소 짧은 시간의 학업으로 인해 그 이후 영국에서의 취업 준비를 할 수 있는 시간이 짧을 것이다. Manchester Metropolitan University의 MA Design LAB과정은 대학원 과정이지만 산업체에서 1년간 프로젝트를 진행하는 LAB형태의 과정으로, 대학원 학위와 함께 영국에서 경력을 쌓고 졸업 이후 취업에 유리한 조건을 가질 수 있는 유일한 과정이다.

이 과정은 새로운 형태의 석사 과정으로 디자인 회사와 직접적으로 연계가 되어 프로젝트를 진행하는 프로그램이다. 전문적인 디자이너가 되기 위해 창조적이고 효율적인 방법을 이끌어내도록 도움을 주며, 각 디자인 분야의 학생을 Team으로 형성하여 팀웍으로 회사에서 프로젝트를 진행하는 방식을 이루고 있다. 졸업전시회는 팀웍으로 회사에서 1년간 이룬 프로젝트를 전시하는 형태이다. 프로그램 과정은 아래와 같다.
